Surroundings - where to go for a trip

Lipno nad Vltavou is an ideal place for water sports such as windsurfing, sailing or kayaking. The surrounding forests and hills offer excellent conditions for hiking, cycling and cross-country skiing in winter. In the summer months, you can take a boat trip on the dam, visit the nearby lookout tower or enjoy an adventure in the nearby adventure park.

Where to shop

Where to eat

Restaurants on the slopes that we like:

Yetti restaurant
Pilsner Beer

Just a few steps for a beer

The pub at the football field, popular with locals, serves good Pilsner beer. It opens at 5:00 PM, except on Mondays. They usually don’t serve food. It’s close to the apartments – we wouldn’t rely on card payments.

Plešné Jezero

The lake got its name from the mountain Plechý, on the slope of which it is located. At 1,378 meters, Plechý is the highest mountain in the Czech part of Šumava.

  • Parking: parking lot in Nové Pec or parking lot in Jelení Vrchy (both CZK 100/day)
  • Best time to go: all year round (cross-country skiing in winter)
  • Path with a stroller: only from Jelení, not possible from Nová Pec
  • Snacks: none directly at Plešné jezero, take a snack with you!
